I wish I had spent more when I replace my garage door. I got the cheapest Menard’s aluminum door. It got hung up once and pulled itself apart. Now it’s not strong enough to be moved by the opener at all.

I’m also surprised that the opener didn’t stop when it felt resistance, but again I got the cheapest option.

Thats why this one is being replaced.  its folded three times and now the metal is so weak it can’t be opened or closed but by hand.

Well I’m going to be someti me soon, because a co uple of weeks ago I cut a slice out of mine with the tractor FEL bucket . Which is what you get for focussing on two things at once - I was so worried about whether the rollhoop behind my head would clear the balcony above the garage that I forgot to watch what the sharp thi ng sticki ng way out the front wa s doing :-(.

Insura nce job, fortunately, but I have a $1000 excess , so I expect I’ll be picking up most of the tab.

Thats from it folding. That door should've a cross strut on each section because it's a hollow door with no support

I am excited for you!

I got a quote on Friday for new doors and I’m very excited. This coming Friday I get my electrical rough-in inspection, then I can finish insulating and dry walling in the garage. Then I’ll have them come out, I’m getting 2 new insulated doors with 2 Liftmaster 8500 jackshaft openers.  I’m beyond stoked!  Price is also... ooof.
